Self Soother

I know I talk a lot about share a lot of pictures get really annoying when it comes to my baby girl, Amy. That's because I have never known this kind of love!! It really is the best feeling in the world. How can you not go crazy over someone that was once a part of you?? And she is the most beautiful baby in the world!
She's so pretty! :)
Today I have to brag one more time. Normally, she has to be rocked or cuddled in order to take a nap. I decided to swaddle her, give her the paci and leave her alone this time. With the house being shown tomorrow, I had too much to do to rock her and cuddle with her, even though I would do it all day if I could! She cried and cried. I ignored it for a little bit then went and replaced the paci once and left. She fussed a little bit more. Next thing I know she is falling asleep!

This is from another nap- when she required a cuddle. Not today!!!

I have been worrying the past few days (worry should be my middle name) that she would never learn to self soothe. I had visions of the daycare workers talking behind my back about how bad mother I am because Amy couldn't fall asleep on her own. I know, silly me.

Well I think (and I hope I am not jinxing myself) that maybe, just maybe, she is learning to self soothe! Now I am going to pray that the thunderstorm doesn't wake her up!

Never make plans...something always changes :)

Hello again. Two blogs in two days. I am starting off strong!

Well today was all planned out- go to church, eat at the pancake breakfast, come home, put dinner in the crock pot, and relax, Uncle Richard takes the big kids to the pool while Mommy stays home with baby. Then dinner was going to be a pot roast with potatoes and a veggie of some sort. The dinner pretty much had to happen because the meat "expired" on the 27th and I forgot to stick it in the freezer oops.

Everything went as planned until the pancake breakfast when one of Dyllan's friends invited him over for the day and to spend the night. Knowing that Dyllan and Alyssa can use all the time apart that they can get (since they share a bedroom...) I of course said YES! Well that cancelled swimming, and the pot roast. I am not going to cook a pot roast for only 3 people to eat. It will last one more day, right?

So instead of swimming, Alyssa, Amy, and Mommy loaded up the car for some shopping at Sandhills. Alyssa took her whole $5 and learned a valuable economics lesson- things are expensive! We walked around for about an hour and a half. Then we decided it was too hot, so we traveled over to Carrabba's to visit Daddy! Since he is a manager, we can eat free! Amy got a tour of the kitchen (from Daddy of course) and we munched on salads and pizza! Delicious, as always! Then we managed to get a craving for some yogurt! We went to 32 degrees, but they were not opened..supposedly someone forgot to show up! We went to Yumilicious, and it was just that! I also saw one of my students from 2 years ago, whose mom happened to be my homeroom mom. Sweetest family ever, so I was thrilled to run into them!

We then came home to relax. It took a while for Amy to settle down, but when she did, mommy and Amy took a much needed nap! Dinner became a freezer meal, followed by some Olympic action! Tomorrow Daddy is off work, so we will try the pool idea again, and the pot roast! Well, unless our plans change :)

Alrighty.

I tried this once before and I failed miserably. This time I am determined to keep this going, not for me, but for Amy. I want her to have a record of her life before her memories. The last post in my old blog was about getting engaged. A lot has changed since then...

The past 2 years in a nutshell:

Got married. Went on honeymoon to Cancun, swam with dolphins, ate a LOT. Became a family of 6 (2 parents, 2 kids, and 2 dogs) living in a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house. Hey, I did not plan on marrying a man with 2 kids already when I bought my house. Hubby got promoted to kitchen manager. Got pregnant. Began to teach 3rd grade after teaching 2nd for 4 years. Put house up for sale. Got a job at my old middle/high school for the upcoming school year. Had a baby girl. House still up for sale. Now family of 7 in a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house. Trying not to kill each other. Trying to spend less save money. Preparing to teach middle schoolers. Preparing Alyssa for middle school and Dyllan for 6th grade. Preparing mommy Amy for daycare. Praying for our house to sell to be able to buy a bigger one. AND enjoying life!

And that, my friends, is the past two years. I hope I can keep up with this blog. If not, kindly remind me!
